List your room in Valencia and choose a flatmate by real compatibility

Valencia's shared flat market runs on a different rhythm to Madrid or Barcelona: sharper seasonality, a predominantly student and Erasmus profile, and an intense September peak that makes compatibility-first selection especially valuable. If you have a room available, Goodbye Mama crosses your living profile against the profiles of people actively looking in Valencia and surfaces the most compatible ones before they send a message. Not a listings portal — a matching system. Free, no commission.

How it works in 3 steps

Step 1 — Define your flat and your habits

The onboarding asks for the room details (area, price, available from, minimum contract length) and your own living habits: routine, tidiness, noise level, attitude to socialising, guests, smoking, alcohol, and pets. It takes about five minutes.

Step 2 — The algorithm brings you compatible candidates

Goodbye Mama crosses your profile against all active users in Valencia who are looking for a room and returns the most compatible ones. You do not receive every message from every interested person — you see the profiles with the highest living compatibility.

Step 3 — You contact, meet, decide

You review the suggested profiles, choose who you want to meet, and contact them directly. No intermediary, no closing commission.

Why compatibility matters more in a smaller market

Valencia's shared flat pool is smaller than Madrid's. That means each contact has more weight — you cannot afford to spend time on incompatible candidates. The compatibility system acts before the messages arrive. You only see profiles that the algorithm has identified as compatible in the dimensions that matter for living together.

What information you need to list

- Area or neighbourhood in Valencia (neighbourhood is sufficient; exact address not needed until you are ready to close)

- Room price (€/month, indicating whether utilities are included)

- Available from date

- Minimum contract length

- If there are already flatmates in the flat: their profiles are factored into the matching

Preguntas frecuentes sobre Valencia

How much does it cost to list a room on Goodbye Mama?

Nothing. Listing is free. There is no commission when you find a flatmate and no monthly fee to keep the listing active.

What is the difference between listing here and on Idealista?

On Idealista you receive all messages with no compatibility filter. On Goodbye Mama, the algorithm crosses profiles by living habits before the messages arrive. You receive fewer contacts but more relevant ones.

Can I specify that I am looking for a student or a working professional?

Yes. The onboarding lets you set profile preferences: employment or academic situation and other criteria the algorithm factors in. You cannot condition the matching on protected characteristics (nationality, gender, etc.) — that would be discrimination.

What if there are already flatmates in the flat? Does their profile affect the matching?

Yes. If other people are already living in the flat, you can add their living profiles. The algorithm will look for candidates compatible with the flat as a whole.

How long does the first match take to appear in Valencia?

In September and February, when demand peaks, the first compatible matches typically appear within 24–48 hours. In quieter months it can take longer. The platform notifies you when new compatible candidates appear.

Can I list if I do not yet know the exact available date?

Yes. You can give an approximate date and update it later. Listing 3–4 weeks in advance is normal — it avoids being left without a flatmate at the start of the semester.
